There is plenty of great shopping around Charlotte but unlike most Cities, Uptown is not one of the better places as very few brand stores are located in the heart of the City.
Like most cities the Malls tend to capture most of the major brand stores. SouthPark Mall just outside of Charlotte will offer one of the best selections of Brand Names as will Northpoint and Concord Mills Mall. On the Southside you will also find Carolina Place Mall.
Belks Department Store has its roots in Charlotte and you will find a large presence of their stores.
Additionally there are some outdoor Malls worth mentioning such as Stonecrest , Blakeney, Arboretum, Shopping centers on the Southside. On the Northside Birkdale Village offers one of the best shopping experiences in the area.
Charlotte Premium Outlets recently opened in Charlotte with over 100 Brand Name Retail Outlet Stores and in conveniently located just off of I-485 SW
If you enjoy browsing the Antique Galleries don’t miss The Depot at Gibson Mill in Concord, or the Sleepy Poet in Charlotte on South Blvd or the ever popular Black Lion which has several locations around Charlotte.
If you are an outdoors person you off course will want to visit the Bass Pro Shop in Concord or the new Cabela’s Store in Fort Mill SC. Also there is an Orvis store in the Phillips Shopping Center in SouthPark.
For other Boutiques and non-branded stores check out the Villages of Davidson, Baxter, North Davidson, Belmont, Matthews and Ballantyne.
For Home Furnishings Charlotte is very close to some of the largest furniture centers in the country. Just an hour north towards Greensboro you can visit High Point where many Manufactures have stores. Don’t miss Furniture Land South which has more than 1,000,000 SF of Furniture Showroom. Another popular furniture location is Hickory also just a short ride from Charlotte. If you are building a home most of the stores will also store your furniture while your home is being completed.
